Junghans shows its sporting spirit, something that the Schramberg-based watch factory obviously already has as seen in its long-term partnerships with both the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and several successful top athletes. Sports timing has a long tradition at Junghans: it began in the 1920s with the first handheld stopwatches and continued with larger sporting events of the twentieth century. During this era, Junghans maintained a separate department for developing technology for sports timing, which was then used during the big sporting events. The Schramberg-based company was the official timer for auto races, skiing world championships, rowing, and track and field events. The pinnacle was without a doubt 1972, a year that has now lent its name to a sporty line of watches.

New sporting spirit: 1972 Chronoscope Sports Edition 2024
The 1972 Chronoscope Sports Edition 2024 heads to the starting line with three dial variations: bright red, silver-grey, and dark green editions are each limited to 200 pieces. The dials have a sporty look with dynamic double stripes and the number 6 in the form of a racing number. The historical logo makes for an interesting contrast to the watch’s sporty-modern design and is repeated on the case back. The leather straps in corresponding colors are made in the style of traditional driving gloves.

The 1972 Chronoscope Sports Edition 2024 is powered by quartz Caliber J645.83, which offers a chronograph able to precisely measure lengths of time as short as one-fifth of a second. This watch also displays the date and a second time zone shown in 24-hour time. All three watches are outfitted with hands coated with ecofriendly white luminous substance that contrast nicely with the darker dials. Good readability is therefore guaranteed both day and night, making the 1972 Chronoscope Sports Edition the perfect sports fan.
