• Daylight for every workplace - and this in a constrained Black Forest valley! At the steepest end of the factory site Arthur Junghans plans a terrace structure that "climbs" the slope in nine steps.

The long, narrow buildings are conceived in a way that enables the workplaces to receive optimal daylight, allowing the highest precision in manufacturing. The terrace structure is completed in 1918 and becomes the landmark of the Shramberg clock factory.
