Where has the time gone?

The standard summer time period is almost here. Its original idea was to conserve energy; but that didn’t work out so well. The time changes that still take place in the spring and fall, introduced in Germany in 1980, remain a much-discussed topic – one that is smoothly mastered by the max bill MEGA Solar Bauhaus. Changing the time is child’s play with the state-of-the-art Junghans radio controlled watch for it will move automatically to summer time on Saturday night (Sunday morning) when it receives the time signal from the most precise clocks in the world, the atomic clocks of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (National Metrology Institute). The max bill MEGA Solar Bauhaus is not only practical and easy, it’s also resource conserving since it gets its energy from the power of the sun: a solar cell under the light transparent dial is what drives the precise yet highly efficient multifrequency radio-controlled movement of this watch. And it even manages to look great: its purist design with red accents is always in style.
