If your Junghans watch needs serviced or repaired by our customer service, we would ask you to note the following points to ensure smooth and uncomplicated processing: To protect your watch against any agitation, please pack it in a padded, stable package.

To benefit from your 24-month warranty, also enclose your valid warranty card (or copy of the original receipt from the authorised dealer). We recommend to send the package by registered mail.

 
 

Guarantee

 

We provide a guarantee of two years for this Junghans watch from the date of purchase. All manufacturing flaws are rectified free of charge within this period. Conventional wear and tear of parts such as straps, casings, glass and battery (where applicable), resulting from everyday use, is excluded from this guarantee. Damage caused as a direct result of improper handling or excessive strains are also excluded. The guarantee will become null and void if the production number is removed from the case back of the watch or is rendered illegible. The extent of any indemnification is relative to the purchase price of this model. Liability for incidental damage or consequential damage is excluded. Negligence of the information provided regarding proper operation and upkeep is considered improper handling. To invoke the guarantee, please take the watch together with your sales receipt and the completed warranty certificate to an authorised Junghans specialist retailer, and if possible, to the Junghans partner from which the watch was purchased. The guarantee is only effective if the warranty certificate has been completely and correctly filled out and stamped by an authorised Junghans partner.
In Germany and in Austria, you also have the opportunity to mail the watch directly to the Junghans Service Center. With this option, however, you are still required to include the sales receipt and the completed warranty certificate. Only consignments with sufficient postage are accepted.

Care and maintenance instructions

 

Like any other precision measuring instrument, a watch must be serviced regularly to ensure that it always works perfectly. We cannot indicate the frequency of such work, since it depends entirely on the model, the climate and the owner’s individual care of the watch. The water resistance of a watch can subside with time, approximately during the aging of gaskets. Impacts can also affect the water resistance. A watch’s water resistance cannot be permanently guaranteed.

It may be affected by the aging of gaskets or by an accidental shock on the components ensuring the water resistance qualities. We therefore recommend maintenance or revision every 4 to 6 years, with a comprehensive examination of the function, depending on the conditions in which it is used. Do not set your watch on speakers or refrigerators that can generate strong magnetic fields, which may in some cases damage your timepiece.

 

After bathing in salt water, rinse the watch with clean tap water.

Protect the watch against any shocks and strong sun and light.

Screw down the crown carefully to prevent water from penetrating into the mechanism.

Push it back into the neutral position to prevent water from penetrating into the mechanism.

For metal bracelets and water-resistant cases, use a toothbrush with soapy water and a soft cloth for drying.

Avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, perfumes, cosmetic products etc., since they may damage the bracelet, the case or the gaskets.

Avoid extreme temperatures above 60°C or below 0°C, and extreme temperature changes.

A watch’s water resistance cannot be permanently guaranteed. It may be affected by the ageing of gaskets or by an accidental shock to one of the components assuring the water resistance such as the crown, pushers or the watch glass. As stipulated in our service instructions, we recommend you have the water resistance of your watch checked once a year by an approved Junghans Service Center.

Special care extends the condition of the strap:

  1. Avoid contact with water and dampness to prevent discoloration and deformation.
  2. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent the colour from fading.
  3. Remember that leather is permeable! Therefore avoid contact with greasy substances and cosmetic products. It is not advisable to clean your strap with leather cleaners.
