Junghans celebrates positive start to 2018 watch year

At the INHORGENTA MUNICH Junghans, the traditional German watch maker, introduced its new developments for 2018 – and won the

Inhorgenta Award in the category “Watch Design of the year”.

This year’s INHORGENTA MUNICH took place from 16-19 February. The leading German watch fair traditionally marks the official start of the new watch year for Junghans. New developments and concepts were presented to traders and the press on the company stand. With Junghans having completed its withdrawal from department store outlets, the focus for the coming year is upon close co-operation with specialist watch & jewellery retailers.

For the second year running, Junghans could also celebrate winning the Inhorgenta Award in the category “Watch Design of the year”. The Meister Kalender succeeded in winning over an expert jury of specialists. “We are dedicated to putting an attractive face on time, as the most precious of commodities. It’s a great pleasure to receive the Inhorgenta Award for the second time in a row,” said Matthias Stotz, Managing Director of Uhrenfabrik Junghans.

Uhrenfabrik Junghans had already received its first distinction prior to the Inhorgenta. The Goldene Unruh, in which readers of Uhren-Magazin (watch magazine) and Focus online (national news magazine) choose their favourite timepieces, saw the FORM A make it to the winners’ podium. “We are very pleased to have secured third place in the category for watches up to 2,500 euros with the FORM A. Especially as we only revealed this model for the first time a year ago. This is a very positive start to 2018 for us” said Matthias Stotz.
