Junghans anniversary models at a glance
150th anniversary of Junghans
To celebrate its 150th anniversary, Junghans lets watches speak for themselves: With exclusive anniversary models, the company points out milestones of a success story and blends tradition and modernity through the reinterpretation of numerous historical specialties in the anniversary year 2011.
Old masters gleam in new splendor
Reminiscences in a new guise: In the anniversary year, Junghans reproduces two limited models of the “Meister” series. The “Meister Chronometer“, exclusive model of the Junghans anniversary tour 2011, is restricted to 150 pieces, while 1,500 copies of the “Meister Chronoscope“ will be produced. The two anniversary models directly pick up a very special part of the Junghans history. Both the “Meister Chronoscope”, equipped with the automatic calibre J880.1, and the “Meister Chronometer” with its J820.1 movement remember the significant 1950s, a decade in which the company was considered one of the largest chronometer manufacturer in the world. The Meister collection is completed out by the “Meister Automatic”. Max Bill equally brightens up the anniversary collection with a very special reinterpretation: The design classic “max bill Chronoscope” with its aesthetic, reduced face will be provided with an 18 carat gold case and is only available in a limited size of 150 pieces.
Solar meets multi-frequency
Besides the exclusive anniversary models, the Junghans collection also picks up crucial milestones of its history and reinterprets them in the anniversary year 2011. The new series “Force” for example reminds of the radio solar watches, which were extraordinarily popular in the 1990s. The “Force” combines for the first time the Junghans multi-frequency radio-controlled technology with environmentally friendly solar energy in a considerably flatter hightech ceramic case. This model expresses what makes Junghans so distinctive in the German watchmaking industry: Its experiences of a 150-year-old success story, which paves the way for future innovations.
The enterprise that began in Schramberg in 1861 developed rapidly to become one of the most fascinating success stories of the German watchmaking industry. The demands placed on watches may have altered since that time – however, the philosophy of Junghans has remained unchanged. Innovativeness and the constant strive for precision down to the tiniest detail are what drive the thoughts and actions of the Junghans employees.
This can be seen and felt with every watch bearing the Junghans name. Because as versatile as the Junghans programme may be - it adheres to a principle. The combination of traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art watch technology and exciting design. This makes every watch bearing the star so unique that we can proudly say: Junghans – The German watch.
